Jacquard fabrics feature interlaced warp and weft threads woven together into concave-convex patterns with intricate interlacing between warp threads and weft threads to form their intricate weaving structure. While textiles encompass many different categories, jacquard fabrics represent one of the largest categories. It can be broken down further into home textiles or fashion fabrics.
Jacquard is more sophisticated than embroidery and allows users to weave complex patterns with rich layers. However, high-grade cotton yarn must be used, as inferior quality cannot produce formed patterns. Furthermore, jacquard can be divided into plain and twill jacquard types.
Difference between jacquard and printing:
The biggest difference between the two is the order of weaving and printing! Jacquard fabrics are woven together during weaving, with the pattern fixed directly, and cannot be selected after the fabric is formed. Printing is done after the fabric is finished, with multiple patterns to choose from. Jacquard fabrics have a three-dimensional feel, but the fabric thickness is greater and the relative cost is higher. Printing is flat, with clear patterns on the front and blurred patterns on the back.
